probability using 2 die

is there a formula i could use that would be faster? how am i suppose to know how many time i roll the die. when do i stop
here is my question for homework. two die are rolled find the probability of getting

a sum of 6, 7 or 8;
doubles or a sum of 4 or 6 and
a sum greater that 9 or less than 4 or 7.

Each of those possibilities are considered with one throw.
