Problems:
Batter has .300 average. A-What is the probability that he doesn't get a hit at the plate= .700
B-If the batter goes to the plate 3 times, what is the probability that he gets a hit first and not the remaining 2 times?
(I dont' know where to go with this.)
C-If the batter goes to the plate 3 times, what is the probability that he gets a hit all 3 times?
P(ABC)- P(A)P(B)P(C)= .30
(1/3.3)(1/3.3)(1/3.3)= 1/36= .027 or 2.7%...Is that correct?

This is a new online class and I haven't had any direction but the book. Thanks, Ginger

Batter getting a hit at different plate appearances are mutually exclusive event. So P = (0.3) * (0.7) * (0.7)

P = 0.3 * 0.3 * 0.3 = 0.027 = 2.7%
