The question is slope-2, passes through (0, -9)
My answer is -2=0(-5)+b
-2-0=b
-2=b
y=-2x-2
is this correct?

And can someone show me how do this one
passes through(-2,-4) and (1.8)

My answer is

y = -2x - 2

is this correct? No

y = m * x + b

The symbol m represents the slope; they told you it's -2.

The symbol b represents the y-intercept; they told you it's -9.

The equation is:

y = -2 * x + (-9)

OR

y = -2x - 9

And can someone show me how do this one

passes through (-2,-4) and (1.8) Is that (1, 8) ?

Use the slope formula, to determine the slope. Can you do that?

Put the slope in for m, put x- and y-values from one given point in for x and y; solve for b.

Please show whatever work that you can.

The equation of a line with slope m and passing through point (x[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d], y[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d]) will be:

y - y[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d] = m * (x - x[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d])

My answer is -2=0(-5)+b
-2-0=b
-2=b
y=-2x-2 <<<< This line does not pass through (0,-9)

The equation of a line passing through points (x[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d], y[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d]) and (x[sub:1ha8yc4d]2[/sub:1ha8yc4d], y[sub:1ha8yc4d]2[/sub:1ha8yc4d])will be:

[y - y[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d]]/[y[sub:1ha8yc4d]2[/sub:1ha8yc4d] - y[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d])] = [(x - x[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d])]/[(x[sub:1ha8yc4d]2[/sub:1ha8yc4d] - x[sub:1ha8yc4d]1[/sub:1ha8yc4d])]
