Lisa is painting her house. A total of 2,127 square feet of surface area needs to be painted. She can paint 59 square feet of surface area per hour. Which equation represents 'A', the surface area of the wall left to paint after she has painted for 't' hours?

a. A = 2,127 - 59t

b. A = 59 - 2,127t

c. A= 59 + 2,127t

d. A= 2,068t

e. A = 2,127 + 59t

I start grad school in January. This is for the praxis PPST- Pre professional skills test.

Okkkkkkkkk....so are you after the answer only?
Any previous math exposure?
You haven't shown any work, so we don't know where you're at...

No, I want to know the procedure. Do i solve this like an equation? I'm thinking the answer is A or E. 59 goes with t i think.

Correct, you need to use 59t; so (as example) after 2 hours, 59*2 = 118 square feet have been painted.
That should be enough to determine whether it's a) or e)
