Here is my problem. I am asked to solve this jumbo equation:

2x+y-z=6 and y-x=3 and x+2z=8


Can anyone help.

should I try each section alone and then add them up?

From y-x=3, get y = 3+x
From x+2z=8, get z = (x-8)/2

From 2x+y-z=6

Substitute the new values for y and z

2x+(3+x)-((x-8)/2)=6

Solve for x.
