hello i am trying to help my niece with her homework and i cant remember how to do this im sorry please if anyone has time if not i understand the superbowl is on which is why she is calling me?

2t=4/7

i said divide both sides by 2 on this but i dont know how to do it?

3/5a=3

this i say divide each side by 3/5 but again no idea how to do that?

5G=5/6

this i would divide both sides by 5 but i get hung up on dividing fractions

sorry for not knowing this myself and thank you for anyone who has a moment or so to assist me i truley appreciate

It's time to get over your distress due to fractions.

Use Multiplication ONLY

2t=4/7
Multiply by 1/2
t = (1/2)*(4/7) = 2/7

3/5a=3
Multiply by 5/3
a = (5/3)*3 = 5

5G=5/6
Muliply by 1/5
F = (1/5)*(5/6) = 1/6

OR Use Division ONLY

2t=4/7
Divide by 2
t = (4/7)/2 = 2/7

3/5a=3
Divide by 3/5
a = 3/(3/5) = 3*(5/3) = 5

5G=5/6
Divide by 5
F = (5/6)/5 = 1/6

I suggest very strongly that you practice doing it both ways. Don't let them force you into one method that you have to remember. Learn to solve them.

oh wow I thank u so much for that . . . my niece thanks you too. I will do exactly as you say divide or multiply and try to not stick with just one or the other. Thank you again. Go Steelers!!

OR...remembering that if a/b = c/d, then ad = bc

2t=4/7 : 14t = 4

3/5a=3 : 3a = 15

5G=5/6 : 30G = 5
