Hi, I am confused on this problem.

In an experiment on chlorophyll inheritance in maize (corn), of the 1103 seedlings of self-fertilizaed green plants, 854 seedlings were green and 249 were yellow. Theory predicts the ratio of green to yellow is 3 to 1. Show all five steps of a test of the hypothesis that 3 to 1 is the true ratio. Interpret the P-value in context.

I am confused as to how to prove the ratio. In my other problems, we had to show the likelihood of a specific probablility of an event taking place and giving the null hypothesis and alternative hypothesis. I know for this one, the first step is assuming that randomization took place and making sure we have a large sample size (> 15). I am confused as to determining what the null and alternative hypothesis are and in determining the probablility of the event happening in this problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
 
By convention \(\displaystyle H_{0}\) is the status quo.

You may need to translate a little. A 3 to 1 ratio is the same as a proportion of 0.75.
