Twelve percent of tires manufactured from a tire company are defective. If tires are randomly selected one at a time and tested...

a) What is the probability that the first non-defective tire will be found on the second trial?
b) What is the probability that the third non-defective tire will be found (i) on the fifth trial? (ii) on or before the fifth trial?
c) Find the mean and variance of the number of the trial on which (i) the first non-defective tire is found, (ii) the fifth non-defective tire is found.
d) Find the conditional probability that the 4th non-defective tire is found on the 7th trial given that the 3rd non-defective tire is found on the fifth trial.

For part a, do I use the negative binomial distribution and say that p(2) = C(12+2-1, 2-1)(0.12)^2(1-0.12)^12?
