I need to calculate the Weighted standard deviation.
I measured the brightness of the same star three different times, each time has a different error.
#Brightness #Error
17.412 0.161
17.111 0.159
17.783 0.133
So I know how to calculate simple Standard deviation but the simple standard deviation doesnt take into account the errors on each measurement.
I need to get the weighted standard deviation that would take each error into account.
Please give me a formula or something.
