Help with expected value

I am having trouble with this expected value problem:

if E[X] = 2 and E[X^2] = 8, calculate:
a) E[(2+4X)^2]
b) E[X^2 + (X+1)^2].

Do i take the integral of a) and b) and plug in 2/8?

For a)
\(\displaystyle E(4+16X+16X^2)=E(4)+16E(X)+16E(X^2)\)
