A manufacturing firm recently instituted an occupational safety program
designed to reduce lost time due to on-the-job accidents. In the 50 months
prior to the safety program, lost time due to accidents averaged 99 hours per
month, with a standard deviation of 12 hours per month. In the 48 months
since the program began, employee lost time due to on-the-job accidents has
averaged 91 hours per month, with a standard deviation of 14 hours per
month.

Perform a hypothesis test to test the claim that the safety program is effective
in reducing lost time due to on-the-job accidents. Use a = 0.01

Thank you in advance!

\(\displaystyle H_{0}\): Average Lost time due to accidents is 99 hrs / month.

Your turn.

Could you please just show me the outline of what to do?
I am confused.
Your help is greatly appreciated!

I could, but if you already have a book or instructor, you will already have seen it. Why would another trip through it, with someone else doing the work, do you any good?

You must show me SOMETHING! Otherwise, how do I know I'm not just doing your homework for you?

Go ahead. Tell me the Alternative Hypothesis.
