1.Let X be a gamma random variable Γ(r = 2, λ = 6). Find the value a such that P(X < a) = 0.95.

I am not sure how to do this.

I think that I use fx(x)=(lambda^r)/R(r)*x^(r-1)exp(-lambdax)

But I'm not sure if I'm supposed to integrate it or what. Maybe this is the wrong formula?

Thanks

What is fx(x)? What purpose does it serve? How does it work?
