Aroha and Tim either bike or walk to school. The probability that Aroha bikes to school is 0.5. The probability that Tim bikes to school is 0.7.
Problem: The probability of them meeting when cycling is 0.2. If one of them bikes and the other walks, the probability of them meeting is 0.4. If they both walk, then the probability they meet is 0.9. Find the probability that they both meet each other on the way to school.
Please help....
This is an exact question from a textbook. I have no idea how to answer it. Please help/guide me.
Textbook says answer is 0.405
