1. A soccer player has an 84% chance of scoring on any given penalty kick.
1) What is the probability of him scoring 5 or less out of 10 kicks?
2) After recovering from an injury, he only makes 5 out of 10 kicks. Is it reasonable to say that his 84% probability has gone down?

2. The mean of 1,171,460 SAT scores is 20.9 and the standard deviation is 4.8.
2 scores are selected at random.
1) What is the expected difference in these scores?
2) What is the expected standard deviation of these scores?
3) What is the probability that the difference is at least 6?

please help i'm so lost

We need to see your work - else we don't know where you are getting stuck, and we don't know what tools you have learned.

For the first problem I would use the Binomial Distribution and then the Sampling Theorem. Do you have another method for "hypothesis testing"?

For question 2, assume a normal distribution.

Please reply with enough detail that we can see where you are "at."
