Using the following Minitab output write the straight line (least squares) equation and
the correlation coefficient.

The regression equation is
Sales = 27.2 + 0.252 Exp

Predictor Coef SE Coef T P
Constant 27.195 5.781 4.70 0.005
Exp 0.2517 0.4201 0.60 0.575

S = 8.97833 R-Sq = 6.7%
I need to plot a regression line Two points are needed. Give calculations
Can someone help with this or at least direct me to a website that would explain it better than my textbook.

which book are you using??

A regression line is a STRAIGHT line.

As indicated, we need only two points to plot a straight line. Your equation is sufficient to give you an infinite number of points.

If exp = 0, sales = 27.2. If exp = 100, sales = 27.2 + 25.2 = 52.4. So two eaily calculated points are (0, 27.2) and (100, 52.4). Now connect them by a straight line. that goes past 100.

Question is on an assignment. I just want to know how to write a straight line equation and the correlation coefficient.

Jeff this will not work

The graph does not go to 100. Only goes to 50 on X axis and 40 on y axis. I need to know how to calculate.

The "regression equation" is the equation of the line you need to plot. Choose any two valeues for Exp, such as 0 and 50, and use that linear equation to find Sales.
