I'm really struggling with these two questions. I'd appreciate any help.

1) Two pharmaceuticals compare and what is of interest are the rates of complication.
Procedure S had 150 patients and there were 35 complications.
Procedure T had 138 patients and there were 34 complications.

Is there a difference at a 1% level.
Find the P-value?

2) A soda filling machine is supposed to have a variance of .01 mL. A random sample of 16 attempts showed a sample variance of .014 mL. Is this significant at a 5% level that the variance is too large.

Using the same question above, but the sample variance of .014 mL is based on a sample of 50 attempts.
