Two cards are drawn without replacement from a standard deck of cards (52)
If the first card is a heart and its number is NOT 5.
What is the probability of ONLY the second card being a 5?

I know the correct answer is 13/51 but how do you come to that conclusion?

Thanks!

How many 5 s are there in the deck?

How many cards are - not five and Heart?

What is the probability of drawing "not five and heart"?

Fives in a deck = 4/52
Hearts = 13/52
1 five of hearts = 1/52
13/52- 1/52 = 12/52 are hearts but not a five....?

The question as originally posted deals with only the second card.

AFTER the first card is drawn, how many 5s are left in the deck?
...........................................what is the total number of cards remaining?
...........................................what is the probability of drawing a 5?
