Suppose that a stick having a length of 4 feet is broken into two pieces, and that the point at which the stick is broken is chosen in accordance with the pdf f(x). Find the correlation coefficient between the length of the longer piece and the length of the shorter piece.

I have written down the formula for the correlation coefficient and I really do not know where to go from there.

You found the formula - so what is the problem?
