Finding Average Rate of Change Help

I feel like this is really simple but I just can't figure it out. I'm not sure which numbers to plug in where.

The question asks:

What is the average rate of change of g(x)=2x-3 between the points (-2,-7) and (3,3)?


How would I go about solving this?

Average rate of change of f(x) between x1 and x2 is = [f(x2) - f(x1)]/[x2 - x1]

When you're driving, your "average rate of change" in position is your average speed. If you were given your start time, your end time, and the distance you'd travelled, how would you find the average speed?
