Thanks for viewing.
Straight to the question:
" In a factory, a machine fills and seals tin cans of milk automatically. It is given that 5% of the cans are dented. Given 30 random samples of 100 cans, find the probability that the mean number of dented cans per sample does not exceed 4."
answer is 0.801 but i do not know the solution because I interpret that the mean dented should be 5 cans.

Second separate question:
There are 1 black, 1 yellow, 2 red, 2 green and 3 blue beads. These 9 beads are arranged randomly in a straight line. Find the probability that all the red and green beads are separated. Answer 5/42

my first try was to interpret as red and green cannot be next to each other, likewise 2 red and 2 green cannot be together. My workings is 5!/(3!) * 5C1 * 4!/(2!2!) = 5/252 which is incorrect. I don't understand the setter's conditions. Please help.

regards,
zoro
