The age of father is twice as his son´s age. 10 years ago, sum of both ages was ...

Hello. I want to know i did it correctly or not, please. Thanks.

question:-The age of father is twice as his son´s age. 10 years ago, sum of both ages was same as an actual age of father. find the actual age of both?
solution:- let son´s age=x
Father´s age=y
then y=2x
10 years ago:
x-10+y-10=2x
-x+y=20
using y=2x
-x+2x=20
x=20
substituting implies y=40.

Looks good to me. But, you could check the answer your self if you don't have someone to do so
(1) The age of father is twice as his son´s age: 40 = 2 * 20
(2) 10 years ago, sum of both ages was same as an actual age of father: 10 + 30 = 40
