To answer this question, let's let \(V_P\) be the volume of the teapot, and \(V_C\) be the volume of a cup. Now, the number \(N\) of cups that can be filled from the teapot is:

[MATH]N=\frac{V_P}{V_C}=\frac{300\text{ mL}}{0.05\text{ L}}=\frac{300\text{ mL}}{0.05\text{ L}\dfrac{1000\text{mL}}{1\text{ L}}}=\frac{300}{50}=6[/MATH]
Do you see why we divide the volume of the teapot by the volume of the cup to find out how many cups the teapot can fill? Do you also see that knowing how many milliliters are in a liter is crucial so that all of our units divide out leaving just a number?

Please, in the future, show what you've tried, and when people ask you questions in an effort to guide you, try to answer those questions, or let us know if you can answer it.
