I can't figure this out.

The sum of four consecutive odd integers is 216. Find the four integers.

How can they all be odd and consecutive integers because my math book says that consecutive integers are numbers that differ by one.

1, 3, 5, 7.. are odd and consecutive integers. There is no odd integer that go between 1 & 3 or 3 & 5, etc.

Four consecutive odd integers can be written as:

(2n-3), (2n-1), (2n+1) & (2n+3) where n can be any integer (odd or even)

information given: sum of four consecutive odd integers is 216

Now continue.....

Thanks but can you explain how to do it more?

Thank you! I understand the odd consecutive thing but what is the equation for that problem?
