Answer requires justification, how would you do this?
Typically, one counts. For each part of the question, ask 8 sub questions:
Which element(s) can appear in the first character of such a sequence?
Which element(s) can appear in the second character of such a sequence?
etc...
Which element(s) can appear in the eighths character of such a sequence?
There may be some variation in these questions for parts that include "or" or "at least".
