If someone invested $50,000 and lost $45,000, he now has $5000. This amount, $5000, is how many cents, or fraction of one dollar, on $1.00 of the $50,000?

Is this correct: ($50,000-$45,000)/$50,000 = $5,000/$50,000. Now divide $50,000 and $5,000 by 50,000. This becomes $0.10/$1.00. Is this solution correct?
