Area of a curved shell ring

Very good presentation and detailed explanation

Once again, thank you for your excellent, comprehensive exposition. I had to study it for over thirty minutes to fully understand it, but understand it I do. You are quite a dedicated individual. Cheers.

Discrepancy

I found a CAS on the internet and input the first integration expression which evaluated to 0.0953 versus your output of 0.07954. Did I input something incorrectly?

Nope, you did good.

When I use 2.5-E(x) as the integrand, I also get 0.0953.

But, it's not 2.5-E(x)

Throughout this typing project, I've been regularly confusing the height of the 2.5 by 2.5 square (which circumscribes the larger circle) with the 2.25 height of the shell ring.

#&%! typos.

The correct integrand is 2.25-E(x), and I will edit that post^2 haste. ?

Very educational

mmm4444bot this has been extremely educational. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Maybe you could use this in one of your classes as a practical example.
