Im not sure what kind of math this is. Its for business math but I am reviewing for the first week. The problem is
4.76x-11,000=0 My answer is 2310.92437 which I rounded to 2310.92 because that is how my professor wants it rounded. When going back to check the work which is required I get 4.76(2310.92)-11,000=-0.0208 instead of just 0. Would I round the answer to 0 when checking the question as well? Thank you for any help!

Your answer is correct considering the effect of rounding.

Rounding makes our answer "inaccurate". But compared to 11000, the remainder (0.0208) is insignificant (~0.0001891%) → almost equal to zero.

[I'm] not sure what kind of math this is.

4.76x-11,000=0
That's algebra.

[It's] for business math but I am reviewing …

My answer is 2310.92437 which I rounded to 2310.92 because that is how my professor wants it rounded.
Yes, we almost always round a dollar amount to the nearest 100th of a dollar (i.e., to the nearest cent), when it's the final answer.

If you were to continue working with this value of x, then you would probably want to use the exact value (instead of the rounded value) or to carry enough extra decimal places, until you get to the end of whatever you're doing -- then round the final answer to the nearest cent. (If we round intermediate results, tiny errors can add up to bigger errors, and that's often not good.)

The exact value for x is 275000/119, and you can obtain that by changing to a rational form of 4.76 (like 476/100, which reduces to 119/25).

I get 4.76(2310.92)-11,000=-0.0208 instead of just 0.
In commerce, I believe that bankers and judges eventually decide what to do about "leftover" amounts such as these.
