Hello all!
This isn't so much as helping to solve an equation, as it is to piece together how it is applied.
The equation is to determine the moisture content of a material and is as follows (straight from the manual):

p=100*(w-d)/d

p= total moisture content of material (%)
w= mass of moist sample (g)
d= mass of sample after oven-drying(g)

Isn't the equation, as is, stating that the moisture is from the dry sample, being as it is the denominator?
Wouldn't it be more correct to have the moist sample mass as the denominator?
Thank you for your time!

That's a good observation. It depends on what you want and how it will be used. This is a ratio, \(\displaystyle \dfrac{Moisture}{Dry Substrate}\).
