Hello everyone,

I am stuck on a "percent difference" problem where I have the following:

(2.75 - 2.25) / 2.75 then multiplying by 100.

Doing this long hand, I got:

0.50 / 2.75

I then took away the decimal to do 050 into 275, which = 55.
Adding the decimal back in, I got 5.5. 5.5 * 100 = 550.

I confirmed this with an online long division calculator.
But when I use Symbolab or a regular calculator, it comes to
0.1818 * 100 = 18.18.

What am I doing wrong?

.50/2.75 (= 0.5 divided by 2.75) = 0.1818
