Hello,
I have a problem with my questions that I received for homework recently, I have been sick so I haven't gotten my notes yet. If someone could help and explain this problem I would be thankful.
Consider the function f(x)=x² +2
i)Explain why y=3 is in the range of f.
ii)Explain why y=1 is not in the range of f.
iii)What is the range of f?

I wont be back to school soon so I can't talk with my teacher.
Thanks

Do you know the definition of:

The range of a function

Yes I do know it, I just can't wrap my head around the notation of it when you are explaining it. Sorry it's probably a silly question but I just don't get it.

Can a value for x be found that produces the given value for y?

Yes? In the Range.
No? Not in the Range.
