How to get answer for "y is inversely proportional to the square root of x...."

From this thread from nine months ago:

y is inversely proportional to the square root of x
When x=9 y=c ,where c is a constant
When x=25 ,y=c-16
Show that when x=36,y=20
I don't understand how you are getting to the answer 120. I've gotten answers of 123 and 24. Please explain further?

Answers "120", "123", and "24" to what question? The problem, as given, asks for a proof, not numerical answers.

In the referenced thread, gabi_thomas found that k = 120. So Katebishop is asking how to get that.

Kate, please show how you got k = 123 or k = 24, so we can see what you might be doing wrong, and help you get past that.
