Hi everyone.

This is a random one, but I've been thinking about and I can't figure out how to solve this.

London has an area of 1.572 square kilometers. There are 7.000 pubs in London. How far is there between each pub on average?

Is it possible to solve this problem with the given information?

Thank you in advance.

Do you mean the (average) distance between neighbouring pubs as Denis assumes or that between any two of the 7,000? If the latter, an internet search provides a formula for the average distance between a pair of points within a circle chosen at random. We can use that if we assume the pubs are in a circular area of 1,572 sq km. No method can be accurate as pubs tend to cluster in popular areas while London's large open spaces (there are many) have none.
Let us know which distance you are interested in.
