Finding the value of x from drawings of triangles, etc

Can someone please help?
You bet! What kind of help do you need? This is a tutoring web site. We don't generally provide immediate answers to homework; instead, we help by answering questions you may have, checking your work in progress, and by offering corrections, suggestions and sometimes links to online lessons or videos.

Please take a moment to read the complete forum guidelines. (There's also a summary here.)

In short, please show what you've tried (even if you think it's wrong). It really helps the volunteer tutors, if you also explain why you're stuck or say which parts are confusing or unfamiliar.

For example, on exercise #8, we see a triangle divided into two right triangles. Do you know the meaning of those tick marks, on the base of each right triangle? If you do, what would that tell us about the two triangles, knowing that they share the same height?

I have to show all work. Can someone please help?
7. What can you say about the two displayed triangles? What does this tell you about the lengths of the two indicated sides?

8. What sort of triangle must be formed by the two smaller triangles? What does this tell you about the lengths of the two indicated sides?

9. The picture here is too small for me to read clearly. Are the angle indicators at the top left and bottom right of the square-ish figure indicators that the angles are right?

10. For the top two smaller triangles, it appears that you have SAS. What then can be said about these two triangles? What then can be said about the lengths of the two indicated sides?

If you get stuck, please reply showing all of your steps so far. Thank you! ;)
