Hello, I am currently trying to revise for GCSE Maths and I am stuck on a question. Could anyone be able to help with the answer by showing with working out as well so I can try get the hang of it the question is:

Zeb spends 2/5 of his pocket money on clothes. 1/3 on CDs and 1/4 on going to the cinema. What fraction of his pocket money did he spend altogether?

Do I have to start by changing the denominator?

Yes, common denominators would be helpful , so try that first and see if you can add the fractions together?
Post your response when you have done so.

Another approach might be.. Imagine he had £120 in his pocket.
How much would Zeb spend if he spent 2/5 on clothes etc.? Does this help?
