A circle is drawn to just fit inside a square of area 196cm2. What is the area of the circle?
The circumference of the circle and the perimeter of the square are in the ratio 11:14 True or false?

What help do you need?

Please show whatever work you have done; for example, did you find the length of the side of the square? Do you see how that is related to the circle?

Do you know how to find the circumference of the circle?

It is related to an irrational number PI. So the answer to the second question is no.

Agree...but this one is "close":
11 / 14 = .7857142....
pi * 14 / 56 = .7853981....

Just another "badly written problem"
Every irrational number is close to some fraction. Every multiple of pi is close to some fraction. (In fact, you can ask that question at most math talks--you're result is close to k*pi, why is that?).

The thing is Sir Denis, is close (in my opinion) does not make it. Math is exact.
