hi

I'm looking for a solution to prove that the criterion is not a function :

y^5-8y-x=0

Please explain WITH this method (X1=X2)→(F(X1)=F(X2))y^5-8y-x=0 is not a function
THANK YOU

Is that a method? It looks more like an operator or a statement.

1) For a given value of x.
2) Is there one AND ONLY ONE value of y.

Take x = 0. What say you of y?
