Hi,
I can't solve this problem with vectors:

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \vec{a}\, =\, (1,\, 1,\, 2),\, \vec{b}\, =\, (0,\, -1,\, 0),\, \vec{c}\, =\, (2,\, 1,\, 4)\)

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \left(\vec{a}\, +\, \alpha\, \vec{b}\right)\, \perp\, \vec{c}\)

. . . . .\(\displaystyle \mbox{Find the value of }\, \alpha.\)

Thanks for help!

What will be the result of dot product of two mutually perpendicular vectors?
