Hi,

I am studying statistics at university and was little bit confused. What is the difference between eg. a venn diagram which contains how many students (out of 30) study eg. Spanish, French and both (intersection)
and joint probability distribution (with two random variable: P(X=x, Y=y) and their relationship, see the picture)? Can the table shown in picture be converted to venn diagram?

joint probability distribution are probabilities (numbers between 0 and 1, inclusive) while numbers in a venn diagram are NOT probabilities (they are (usually) whole numbers)

Hypothetically: And since it is 3x2 table it is not possible to convert it into venn diagram? Is it only possible to convert 2×2 table to venn diagram?
