Holiday season lacks initial direction for plant (5) & (5)

I think I found one:
** ASTER
Easter = holiday season
E = initial direction (East)
ie Easter lacks E = aster = plant
**

Holiday season lacks initial direction for plant (5)

I don't think initial direction = E(ast) is legal.
East needs to appear in the clue (not a synonym).
The British authorities will visit you :razz:

I think it's ok. "Initial direction" is E or W or S or N.

Is the other one [*****] …
That's not the other answer, but it's a great alternate. Good job! :D

If you would like to wait a couple days, there will be additional information posted. (One Dual Crypt? and Dual Crypt Two? are part of a pending, larger puzzle.)

Oh yeah? This crypt comes from a British publication, so I'll send the authorities up to Canada -- to speak with you about filing false reports :p:p phbbbbt!

Is it *** Winter - W = INTER = plant (as in bury)?
since Christmas is in winter for you poor folk in the northern hemisphere!

Disappointed!! I thought you made them up!!
I feel badly for disappointing you, but hopefully this will make you feel better: I have set multi-answer crypts in the past, just not this time.

My crypts are posted in blue, but I'll also start posting disclaimers from now on. Cheers :cool:
