Hi I have been stuck on this question for a while now and I was hoping for some help. I have figured out that TAD should be =19600 but I do not know if the force goes up or down.

Hint: Graphical solution will have to be done with ruler-compass-protractor.
I am not sure what would be the difference between algebraic and trigonometric solutions. in both the cases you h will have to follow the following steps:
The tension in the cable AB must be equal to the weight of the beam. Define x-y axes and draw a Free-body-diagram of point O, the center of the ring.
O is in static equilibrium due to four forces acting along OB (or OE), along OC (or OF), along OA (or OD) and the weight of the beam (acting vertically down from OA).
