1. ## Please help I need to solve this: My Base pay is a 31.44 Overtime is 1.5 (base pay) =

I came across my paystub and brought this up to my supervisor.
My Base pay is a 31.44
Overtime is 1.5 (base pay) = $47.16 ( should be*) now the way it’s calculated on my pay stub is Regular hours. - 18 ($31.44) = $754.55 Overtime - 18 ($31.44) = $565.91 ”OvertimePremium” - 18($42.20) (.5)= $379.82 Double time - 6($31.44)(2)= $377.38 this where I saw a problem if they are already paying 18$ @ $31.44 The overtime premium should be paid @$18(47.16)(.5) correct ?
31.44(1.5) 47.16 hence 1.5(base)

Yet when I simply add 18(31.44)(1.5)= $848.88 but when you separate the whole from the half and add them together 18(31.44). =565.91 18(31.44)(.5)=379.82 =945.73 which would appear they are over paying me at a lesser rate of$42.20 instead of $47.16 Somethings not adding up and there has to be an explanation please help anyone !!! 2. Regular hours. - 18 ($31.44) =$754.55
Overtime - 18 ($31.44) =$565.91
”OvertimePremium” - 18($42.20) (.5)=$379.82
Double time - 6($31.44)(2)=$377.38

Well, until you fix this:

Regular hours. - 18 ($31.44) =$754.55
Overtime - 18 ($31.44) =$565.91

You're not going to get anywhere.

How do you multiply the same two values and get different results.
Do you REALLY get overtime after only 24 hours?

31.44(1.5)= 47.16; hence 1.5(base)

Yet when I simply add 18(31.44)(1.5)= $848.88 but when you separate the whole from the half and add them together 18(31.44). =565.91 18(31.44)(.5)=282.96 =848.88 which would appear they are over paying me at a lesser rate of$42.20 instead of $47.16 Somethings not adding up and there has to be an explanation please help anyone !!! this where I saw a problem if they are already paying 18$ @ $31.44 The overtime premium should be paid @$18(47.16)(.5) correct? no

no, the premium is 18($31.44)(.5)=$282.96; not $379.82, the premium is how much is added to your regular pay for those hours. you get the same answer either way 18 ($31.44) = $565.91 18 ($47.16)=$848.88 [your overtime pay=$47.16 ]
total=$1414.79 or/ 18 ($31.44) = $565.91 18 ($31.44)+0.5(18)($31.44)=$848.88 [your overtime pay is $31.44 + (0.5)$31.44]
total=\$1414.79
