I really do not get this problem at all. Could someone please explain it to me?
A set of scores with a normal distribution has a mean of 27 and a standard deviation of 4.8. Which score could be expected to occur the most often?
A. 19
B. 26
C. 29
D. 36
E.40

Thank you so much.

Let's start with what you DO know.

Can you sketch a graph of this distribution? Where will the peak be? How far from the peak is each of the values given?

Now, there is a technical difficulty with this problem, in that the normal distribution doesn't really tell you how often an individual score will occur, but only a range (such as anything less than x, or between two scores). But that don't cause any real trouble in answering it.
