Help can anyone help me Im writing an essay on the geometry of basketball and I must include 5 proffs or theorms and explain how they relate to Geometry in a person making a shot or how a shot is made into the basket

The "Give and Go" requires the ball to traverse two legs of a triangle faster than the player originally with the ball traverses the third leg. One can deduce, then, that the ball must travel faster then the player. This is a natural consequence of the sum of the lengths of two sides of a triangle being greater than the length of the third side.

Hello, da1ndonlycia!

Help - can anyone help me?
I'm writing an essay on the geometry of basketball and I must include 5 proffs or theorms
and explain how they relate to Geometry in a person making a shot
or how a shot is made into the basket
First of all, I hope you know some geometry (and algegra).
Otherwise, you might as well write about nanotechnology or warp drives.
Code:
             **
           *    *
         *       -*-
        *        \_/
       *
      *

Since the trajectory of a basketball is a parabola,
. . you could write an equation for sinking a basket
. . that is (for example) 15 feet away and 10 feet up.

There are zillions of parabolas that start at (0,0), go up,
. . then come down through the point (15,10)

You could possibly find the parabola with the least height
. . that will clear the rim and score.
[You will probably need the measurements of the ball and the basket.]
