It is very difficult to help without knowing exactly with what you are working.
However, here is a simple fact that should answer your question.
If w=r[cos(Θ) + isin(Θ)] then |w|=|r|.
This is because, r<SUP>2</SUP>[cos<SUP>2</SUP>(Θ) +[/B]sin<SUP>2</SUP>(Θ)]=r<SUP>2</SUP>.
