inequality

Hiya! I finally figured out the color thing. :D Anyway, I have yet another problem thats giving me a hard time:

You are running for class president. At 2:30 on election day you have 95 votes and your opponent has 120 votes. 45 more students will be voting. let x represent the number of students (of the 45) who vote for you. Write an inequality that shows the values of x that will allow you to win the election. What is the smallest value of x that is a solution of the inequality?

so it would be something like:

120 < 95

but where would the x and 45 go?

Maybe "something like" 120 < 95" but you need the x in it.
You have 95 so you need "95+x" in it. Your oponent gets the rest so you also need "120+(45-x)" in the equation.

First: you're still posting in eye-squinting pinkish color!

Second: not sure what you mean by x < 35;
anyway, you need a minimum of 36, so minimun = 45(4/5)

you confused me...45(4/5)??? I did:

120 + (45-x) < 95 + x
165 - x < 95 + x
70 < 2x
35 < x

is this color better? i liked the pink better and it said violet, not pink :p

I like this color better.
Your answer is good but would be improved by writing
x > 35
