Will you help me with this word problem? Thanks in advance.
Use factoring

A triangular sail has an area of x^2 +5x+6 square meters and a height of x+3 meters. Find the length of the sail's base. This is a sail boat.
area = x^2+5x+6m^2

Th area of a triangle is (1/2)*Base*height. They should have told you that.
(1/2)*b*(x+3) = x^2+5x+6 so
b = 2*(x^2+5x+6)/(x+3)
b = 2*(x+3)*(x+2)/(x+3)
