proof numaricaly that g(x)=squareroot(x^2+0.0001)-0.01 is not a different form of the absolute value function.

g(x)=squareroot(x^2+0.0001)-0.01
sqrt(4^2+.00001)-.01 = abs(4)
sqrt(4^2+.00001) = 4.01
16.00001 = 16.0801
Numericaly, they are not equal.

thank you so much! so to do this in the future i just put a random number nto bothe equations?

Well, that is one way. You assume it is true. If you can find a number which makes the equation false, it proves that the proposition is false.
