Hi. Need a little help with this one:

How many tangent lines to the curve y = x /(x+1) pass through the point (1,2)? At which points do these tangent lines touch the curve?

Have you found the derivative yet?

The slope of the tangent line at a point is the derivative at that point. So plug (1, 2) and (x, x/(x + 1)) into the slope formula. Set this equal to the derivative. Solve for the x-values.
