I am stuck on a concept or term...?

What is the difference between a quadratic function and a quadratic equation?

A quadratic function is of the form \(\displaystyle y = ax^2+bx+c\). A quadratic equation is of the form \(\displaystyle ax^2+bx+c = 0\). It is assumed that \(\displaystyle a\) is not equal to zero.

quadratic function: A function in the form f(x)=ax^2=bx=c, where a, b, and c are real numbers and /=0. i put the slash in front of the equal sign so that means cross over the equal sign.

quadratic equation: An equation that cane be written in the form ax^2+bx+c=0 where a, b, and c are real numbers an a /=0
