I have an interesting probability query.

The Price is Right game show abounds with probability games.

Lucky Seven is one of the oldest on the show.

A contestant is given 7 dollars and told to guess the individual numbers in the price of a car.

The first one is given. The next 4 digits are guessed and for each number away from the correct digit they must give up a dollar.

The object is to have one dollar left in order to buy the car at the end. Therefore, the contestant can only miss guessing all four digits by 6.

For instance, say the contestant guesses 5 on the first attempt and the number is actually 7. They give up 2 dollars and so on. But they can only afford to lose 6 dollars in 4 attempts.

What is the probability of winning?.

It seems the many different combinations that add to six, including 0 for guessing correctly, using 4 combinations would be a lot to count up.

Say, the contestant missed all 4 digits by 0, 2, 2, 2. They win.

There would be many more such combinations totalling 6, not to mention those that win with less than 6 dollars.
